In the early 1980’s, when I had more time to mess around with cars, I restored an Isetta from the ground up. I sold it to a BMW dealer and started on another Isetta. The rare convertible model, which I sold in the spring of 2000.  I used this Isetta for the past 15 years but when the kids started to get bigger and we moved out in the country, the Isetta no longer got any use. It spent most of it’s time in the garage.

In 1999, I purchased a BMW 600 figuring it would take four people anywhere they wanted to go around here at a much easier pace.

The BMW 600 was in pretty good shape, but, it needed some going over to get it road worthy. Engine tune up, new silen blocks, brakes adjusted and electrical connections cleaned...

That went pretty well but once it was on the road more problems came up. Shifting was difficult, it would not change gears easily, downshifting around a corner was impossible. A shock was frozen up, others were leaking oil.

This winter when I had more time, I started to take some parts off to replace rubber pads and I wanted to check out that transmission.  I had so many parts off the car, I figured I might as well restore it from the ground up!

This web site will show you pictures of the different stages of it’s restoration.
